A ton of pig live weight produces (during the monitored period) 230 liter/year of ammonium sulphate solution at 6.4% (= 14 kg N/year/ t of l.w.). It need 3.5 kg H2SO4/kg NH4+-N so near 50 kg H2SO4 for the 14 kg of N. Further 3-5% are needed to lower the pH of the treatment water added in the scrubber.
The cost is already net of the value of ammonium sulphate, the ammonium sulphate solution (at 6% in Nitrogen) is around 110 - 130 euro/ton of solution and linked to the market price of crystal ammonium sulphate at 21% in nitrogen.
